ILL WILL VS HOLLOW DA DON Rare Breed ENT in Atlanta
It’s been a minute since i have attended a rap battle. Before i had a name for doing producer beat battles i was involved with some state to state battles taking a squad of emcees to Cleveland, New York, and a featured event during all star weekend in Houston back in 2006. All available on DVD.
I ended up at the Rare Breed event due to one of the artist i’ve rocked with for the longest in battle rap Quest Mcody. Him and Marv Won were in town so we headed down to support the home team Pontiac’s own ILL WILL.
Dope space for the battle, although i much prefer a stage due to my height challenges lol. We got there just in time to catch the battle between A. Ward VS Bigg K. It was a nice match and i have to say Bigg K brought that feeling back that i missed from my time in the sport. But what Bigg K really did was warm me up for who i was about to see do his thing live for the first time ILL WILL.
What i hate most was that i wasn’t front and center and able to clearly hear every word delivered in a oscar nominating theatrical performance. But i heard enough, I seen enough, I felt enough to know a goat when i see one. You got to give it up to these guys that get up there and put it all on the line. Every time they get on stage, there career depends on it being a hit. Ill Will is successful at this sport, his pen is the result of a boundless imagination mixed with the gift to arrange words into the most epic tales. His ability to allow himself physically to deliver the performance worthy of a Tony award, ILL WILL solidified his Picture on the walls of Battle Rap Royalty along time ago…
